Florence is one of my favorite cities in Italy. I just love the spirit of the Renaissance; rebirth, art, beauty. There’s just so many wonderful things to see in this city. On my trip to Florence I had the pleasure of staying at Casa Thiele alla Signoria located inside a historical 14th century Palazzo in the heart of the city. A stunning unique boutique hotel that enhances the beautiful accents of the history around you.
The greatest impression I had of Casa Thiele is the owner Anna who created this beautiful place as a labor of love for the city of Florence. She gave us such a thorough history of the city and recommendations on things to do and fantastic viewpoints for pictures. Her warm personality and really makes you feel right at home.
The location of Casa Thiele couldn’t be more perfect for exploring Florence. Right at number 2 via de’Calzaiuoli a picturesque walking street and just steps away from Piazza della Signoria. You can feel the energy around you but surprisingly not bothered by noise at all. It is so centrally located, every sight we wanted to see was within a 15 min walk away.
The concept for the hotel is the Renaissance and she has 5 rooms to showcase it decorated in their own ways; the Messere, Madama, Birds, Clouds and Stars. We stayed in the Madama room which has wide windows overlooking the walking street. As Anna was giving us a tour she explained in detail her inspiration for her decorative fixtures for the rooms. Each room comes together wonderfully blending modern comforts with beautiful design while keeping the existing architecture of the historical building.
In our rooms we had a little treat of some sweet liqueur and some cookies. Every morning we feasted on a beautiful breakfast tower complete with espresso, cheese, meats and yogurt. It fueled us perfectly to start our day of exploration.
I highly recommend staying at Casa Thiele in Florence. It is a wonderful place to spend in this enchanting city.
I was hosted by Casa Thiele, all opinions are my own.
